Change can be oh-so-good

Hi friends! Welcome to my newly revived, and much improved, “Busy Thoughts” blog! In preparing for the launch of Hello Monday Creative, I wanted to make sure that I still had my own little corner of the blog-o-sphere to post my daily thoughts, inspirations, and life events.

You’re probably thinking, “What is this Hello Monday thing anyways?” Let me fill you in. At the New Year, I’ll be merging with the lovely Sarah of Truly Smitten to form a super new and awesome “design house”, with Sarah as the graphic design principal and me as the web design principal. There are several reasons behind this new venture but the big idea is to be able to serve a greater amount of clients, offer a full spectrum of web/media/graphics/branding/print, and to each be able to focus on and develop our individual strengths…

You see, while I really do enjoy all the aspects of design, the thing I love most (and am strongest at) is the web layout & coding part. Over the past few months, I came to the realization that when trying to “do it all” it’s unrealistic to think I’ll ever be able to really become the best at what I do because the broad world of design is changing faster than I could ever possibly keep up. The key, I think, is to pinpoint one specific area and become amazing at it!

That’s where Sarah and Hello Monday come in. Sarah and I have been friends for years, have collaborated on several different design projects together, and no joke, we make a crazy-good team! I can’t wait to show you everything that we’ve been brewing up for our big launch. SO much more to come on that!

But back to Busy Thoughts, something new that I want to try out is posting some super easy DIY craft tutorials. I would by no means consider myself a skillful “crafter” so when I find an awesome and simple blog tutorial to walk me through the steps of a project I get so excited. So with that said, I’m hoping to bring some fresh, new, easy “how-to”s to the blog world. What do you think?
